Urban Hiking

What do you do when it's 100+ degrees at 10am on the first day of fall?? Urban hiking. Which pretty much just means making a mad dash towards shade - wherever you can find it. Like the sidewalk of a busy road where people look at you funny, because you're taking pictures of a bush. Haha. That alone was worth it! Anyway, it was a great day, even if it was a little hot - and we all complained. Ok, mostly me and the two munchkins (it ended up being 106 by the end of the day - in late September! Maybe I'll get used to this?? Out of necessity?). Arizona is a beautiful place! And I'm determined to find it's beauty, even if it's hidden under a plethora of needles and thorns! (Or I'm hidden in my apartment waiting for the 80* temps to arrive.) Enjoy fall weather wherever you are! My only consolation is that I won't have anything to do with winter this year. Bring on the heat ;)

  1. We did this yesterday at 2 p.m. in 97 degree heat. :) The kids and I walked to WalMart where I let them pick out a cold treat. It's always an adventure! One of our favorite things is watching for fish on the canal bridges. There are some whoppers out there!
